I would like to start with a discussion of meal planning. When you think about cooking, starting with a holistic plan can be very helpful and good for your general health. I like to use the plate method for meal planning. The plate method is just a thought process for what and how much you should have in your meal.

  • 50% of your meal should be fruits and/or non-starchy vegetables

  • 25% should be grains or starches

  • 25% should be protein
